IP-S2 HD Mapper Features:
Integrated Positioning System
Topcon’s IP-S2 HD Mobile Mapping System overcomes the challenges of mapping linear features to a high level of accuracy. Accurate vehicle positions are obtained using three technologies: a dual frequency GNSS receiver establishes a geospatial position; an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) tracks vehicle attitude; and connection to external wheel encoders obtains odometry information. These three technologies work together to sustain a highly accurate 3D position for the vehicle even in locations where satellite signals can be blocked by obstructions such as buildings, bridges, or tree lines.
IP-S2 HD Mapper Components
The IP-S2 HD Mapper features a rotating LiDAR sensor with 64 internal lasers that capture targets up to a range of 100 meters. The sensor's 360 horizontal field of view provides full coverage of scan areas with a 30 vertical field of view to minimize laser shadowing. A six-lens digital camera system produces 360 degree spherical images at user-defined time or distance intervals. Five optional single-frame cameras can be added for focused, forward-facing views. Topcon's High Density HD Mapper system produces the highest-density point cloud available in mobile mapping systems today.
Software
Spatial Collect software is supplied with the IP-S2 systems to control data collection operations. The vehicle operator can clearly see his path and on a geographic map. Spatial Collect also provides status information about all system components.
Geoclean Workstation integrates data from the inertial measurement unit (IMU), the GNSS receiver, and the wheel encoders of IP-S2 systems. GPS post processing with local base or reference station data can be performed for high-accuracy trajectory computation.
Optional software is available for a variety of applications such as:
The following deliverable files can be created:
The IP-S2 HD Mapper provides fast, high accuracy, high density data and dynamic imaging for any linear mapping project. The vehicle-mounted system collects data at normal roadway travel speeds. Safety is improved by removing data collection personnel from vehicular travel areas.
